Training packages

The following training packages for 10MILA 2013 are available

  • #1 night orienteering at Järvafältet
  • #2  day orienteering at Törnskogen
  • #3 combined day and night at Ängsjö  (district championship courses 2012)
  • #4 day orienteering at Törnskogen  (released march 19th)

The course designers for package 1 and 2 are Anders Hallmen and Lars Roos, both experienced 10MILA course designers.

Package #1:  Night orientering at  Järvafältet

Starting September 22-23d two different trainings for night orienteering are available on Järvafältet, north of Stockholm.

Both training courses are forked, thus suitable for relay training.

The terrain is 10MILA-like and representative for the night trails, apart from some cultivated areas.

Järva North

Parking along the old ”Stäketvägen”. Enter from road 267 towards Katrinedal and then towards west on the old road.

Course length is 9 km, possible to shorten to 6,8 km. The course is marked with reflective batons only.

Järva south

Parking at Bögs gård, at Järvafältet.

Course length 10 km, possible to shorten to 7,8 km. The course is marked with reflective batons only.

Package #2: Day orienteering Törnskogen

Starting October 1st, a training courses for day orienteering are available at Törnskogen, in the eastern part of the community of Sollentuna close to Stockholm.

Törnskogen is a demanding wilderness area with terrain similar to the terrain of the day courses of 10MILA.

The courses originate from the club house of Tureberg, with forked routes of about 10 km.

The courses are marked with orange/white flags only (no reflective batons).

Package #3 : Day and night course at Ängsjö  District courses 2012

Starting October 1st,  two courses are released at Ängsjö. The courses were recent used  at the district championships in individual night orienteering and relay day orienteering. This will allow comparison to the results from that event.

Ängsjö is situated close to 10MILA, just separated by lake Mälaren.

Leif Ottling och Lars-Erik Hult (Relay).

The courses originate from Ängsjö lodge, offering both showers, cafeteria and camping cottages.

The forked relay courses are Men 21 (9,1 km) and Ladies 21 (6,1 km). The night courses are Men 21 (11 km) and Ladies 21 (8,3 km) no forks.

Package #4: Day orienteering Törnskogen

New training packages in Törnskogen.

Nice individual day courses which also enables mass start training.

Alternating orienteering with some path choices due to snow conditions.

Course length 5,7 km, 7,0 km, 10,0 km

The courses are marked with flags only (not reflective batons)

Hard surface at the club house of Rotebro IS in Sollentuna. Please indicate interest when submitting your order.

There are also a number of hotels in the northern part of Stockholm.
